Samsung Electronics will launch the strategic phone Galaxy M31 in India on Feb. 25 to retake the top spot in the Indian market. The Galaxy M Series is an online sale-only phone launched by Samsung Electronics to reduce offline distribution costs. Recently, the global smartphone giant changed its strategy to sell smartphones both online and offline.

Samsung Electronics will release the Galaxy M31 on Feb. 25 and prepare to launch the Galaxy M51 as the next model, industry sources said on Feb. 18. The Galaxy M31 is an India-only budget smartphone with a lower price and increased camera performance and battery capacity.

The smartphone has a 6.4-inch Infiniti-U display which can show videos of full HD+ quality. A 32-megapixel camera with an f2.0 aperture is placed on the front part. On the rear surface, four cameras are mounted -- rectangular, wide angle, telephoto, and depth cameras along with an LED flashlight in a rectangular camera module. You can take pictures of up to 64 million pixels.

The most notable feature is its 6000mAh battery. A fingerprint reader is placed on the back. The device is loaded with the Exynos 9611 processor and a 64GB storage and a 4GB memory or a 128GB storage and a 6GB memory. It also supports 15W quick charging and has a 3.5mm earphone jack. Its price is about 15,000 rupees. In the Indian market, it belongs to the low price class above the ultra-low-cost class.

Samsung Electronics has been steadily strengthening its online sales channel in the Indian market this year. Recently, the company is inducing offline sellers to enter the online market by partnering with the online giant Amazon.Com.

Samsung Electronics came in third in the Indian smartphone market in the last quarter of 2019 behind Xiaomi and Vivo.
