Domestic sales totaled 5,101 units, exports totaled 15,383 units

GM Korea Company sold 5,101 vehicles in the domestic market and exported 15,383 vehicles (excluding CKD products) in January. Total sales for the month were 20,484 vehicles.

A series of successful new vehicle launches since the second half of last year helped lead the company to a year-on-year increase of 0.9% in domestic sales.

The Chevrolet Spark drove the company’s sales performance in January, with its sales up 19.6% from the same month last year to 2,589 units in the domestic market.

The Colorado, the first authentic American pickup truck offered in Korea, sold 777 units, for a monthly increase of 20.3%. The nameplate’s sales maintained an upward trend for the third consecutive month.

Chevrolet’s imported models — the Traverse, Colorado, Equinox, Bolt EV and Camaro SS — had combined sales of more than 1,000 units in January.

“The Chevrolet Trailblazer, which was recently launched in the domestic market following the Traverse and Colorado released last year, is receiving an enthusiastic customer response,” said GM Korea Vice President of Sales, Service and Marketing Cesar Toledo. “As our new vehicles are having a positive effect on Chevrolet’s brand image, we are fully committed to providing our local customers with more choices through the ongoing launch of products and promotions.”

For the month of February, Chevrolet has launched the Chevrolet, Find New Year sales promotion. It offers unprecedented benefits to those who purchase a Chevrolet vehicle. To celebrate the Trailblazer launch, the brand is also proceeding with customer events for those who ask for a quotation and pre-order the new global SUV. In addition, the brand plans to give out prizes to those who enter contests on Chevrolet’s official website (www.chevrolet.com).
