Lee Dae-hoon, president of NH Nonghyup Bank, started his first on-site management in 2020 with a video call with the heads of the bank’s global offices on Jan. 3.

The video call connected Lee simultaneously with employees of the bank’s offices in New York of the United States, Hanoi of Vietnam and Beijing of China. Lee delivered New Year greetings to employees of the offices, praised their performance last year, explained major management policies for 2020, and asked them to make efforts to promote global business, the core of the bank’s future growth engine.

The bank’s business goal for this year is “Beyond 1.5+,” which means attaining 1.5 trillion won in profit and transforming into a customer-centered “digital human bank.” To attain this goal, the bank will pursue customer-centered integrated marketing, secure digital-based financial competitiveness, establish a stable profit-making structure, build a tight risk management system and become a trusted leading bank.

In particular, the lender selected the expansion of its overseas network as a core task in expanding its mid- to long-term profit base and strengthening its responsiveness to changes in the business environment. It plans to double up efforts to expand its global business in 2020.
