Roh So-young, director of the Arts Center Nabi, has filed a counterclaim for divorce against her husband, SK Group chairman Chey Tae-won. She has thus far been opposed to divorce, but expressed her intention to divorce for the first time.

Roh, the daughter of former President Roh Tae-woo, submitted a petition for divorce and division of property to the Seoul Family Court on Dec. 4. She reportedly claimed 42 percent of SK Group shares owned by Chey.

The SK chairman filed for divorce in December 2015 after disclosing that he had a mistress and an extramarital child. Yet Roh was against divorce, saying, “I will keep my family.”

The two failed to settle their divorce out of court last year and have since been involved in formal divorce proceedings. Choi attended a trial in November, but Roh did not.
