A Check Card with Diverse Benefits

Woori Card has launched K-Check Card, which is tailored to foreign customers residing in Korea.

Woori Card has launched K-Check Card, a special product tailored to foreign customers residing in Korea, in commemoration of breaking the milestone of 5 million card users.

Foreign residents in Korea are expected to reach 3 million in 2021. They are important customers with a fast growth rate and a high card use rate. In particular, they usually do not hold multiple credit cards. Despite their growing importance, it has been not easy to find a credit card customized for them.

Woori Bank and Woori Card developed K-Check Card through collaboration from the planning stage. Employees at Woori Bank's Foreign Finance Center translated a questionnaire into six languages -- English, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian and Russian -- and conducted a survey on customers to factor the results in the development of the product.

The check card includes benefits for buying household goods. Moreover, it offers a discount of 1,000 won at restaurants (3 times a month) from 6 p.m. to 12 p.m. It takes 3,000 won off monthly charges for buses and subways across the nation, 3,000 won off monthly charges for mobile phone bills and 2,000 won off tickets to palaces and museums in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province.

Its Lounge Members Program offer free access to airport lounges around the world to allow customers to enjoy travel more comfortably in airports. It also offers a cashback benefit of up to 1 percent depending on the amount of spending at overseas merchants.
