The talk of the town in Seoul today is a CCTV filming of the Avengers 2 shoot on Mapo Bridge.

On March 30, the full-on filming of the movie “Avengers: Age of Ultron” kicked off, but there was an unusual, hilarious event on the first day.

Earlier, Avengers 2 production company Marvel and its distributor, Disney, put a gag order on its Korean shooting. They banned even watching the scenes being shot, and strongly hinted that stern measures could be taken if pictures of the scene were to be revealed.

Seoul City called for its citizens’ cooperation, while citizens worried about potential traffic blockages, by asserting that Korea will benefit from enhanced status and profits when Avengers 2 opens.

On the morning of the first day of shooting, Mapo Bridge was completely blocked off. Even though some citizens, being unaware of the situation, struggled with police to cross the bridge, most people took a detour when asked by the event personnel, showing a mature sense of citizenship.

However, there was an unexpected turn of events. The shooting team did not know that there was a web site that was linked to the CCTV cameras on the bridge which enabled anyone on the Internet to watch what’s happening on the bridge. The CCTV system had been installed last year to help deter suicides on the bridge.

After the shooting began on Mapo Bridge, the program address of the CCTV on the site went viral on the Internet, and the number of netizens taking a look rose exponentially, extremely agitating the movie personnel.

Netizens who heard about the Avengers 2 CCTV leak commented, saying “Avengers 2 CCTV, this is awesome!”, “How could this be possible?” , “The CCTV incident proves Koreans’ iron will”, and “People in charge must have been embarrassed.”
