Woori Bank announced on Nov. 19 that it has solely financed aircraft purchases by Vietnam's private airline VietJet.

VietJet is Vietnam's No. 1 low cost carrier (LCC) and provides flight services from Incheon to nine Vietnamese cities including Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang, and Phu Quoc.

Woori Bank provided US$140 million for VietJet to purchase 10 units of the Airbus 321. Vietjet plans to use the new airplanes for services to major Asian cities.

Woori Bank went down in history as the first Korean commercial bank to arrange aircraft financing for a private Vietnamese airline.
