Strong in Kitchen and Laundry Appliances
Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics have swept the top spots in a U.S. consumer satisfaction survey.
Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics received the highest points in all nine categories in the J.D. Power 2019 Kitchen and Laundry Appliance Satisfaction Studies, which was released on Aug. 4.
Samsung Electronics ranked No. 1 in dryers, drum washing machines, automatic washing machines, freestanding ranges (cooktops and ovens), and microwave ovens. LG Electronics came in first in dishwashers, French door refrigerators, side-by-side refrigerators and general refrigerators.
JD Power is a reputable product evaluation company in the United States and conducts satisfaction evaluations of home appliances such as washing machines, dryers, refrigerators, and cooking appliances annually.
In particular, the Samsung dryer ranked No. 1 with a total score of 880 (out of 1,000), and was the only one that won the best grade among dryers. In washing machines, Samsung Electronics took first place in both drum washing machines and automatic washing machines. Its drum washing machines received the highest point for two consecutive years by receiving 871 points this year.
LG Electronics explained that core components and technologies such as inverter linear compressor, knock-on magic space, and direct drive (DD) motor contributed to greatly enhancing the quality of its refrigerators.
Inverter linear compressors are over 18 percent more energy efficient than ordinary inverter compressors because they lose less energy during power transmission. They are more durable and make less noise as they have structures simpler than those of ordinary inverter compressors. Simple and easy control of motor speed allows users to freely set the temperature of refrigerators as well.
