At 2019 New York International Auto Show

The Mint Concept Car from the Genesis Brand of Hyundai Motor

The Genesis brand would unveil the Mint Concept Car based on an electric car at the 2019 New York International Auto Show, Hyundai Motor said on April 17.

The Mint Concept Car is a global project created through collaboration among Hyundai Motor’s design centers in Korea, Europe and North America, the Korean carmaker said. It aims to be a city car that meets the level of functionality and driving ability required for the daily life of citizens. The Mint Concept Car was unveiled at Hudson Yard in New York City on April 16 (local time) on the eve of the New York Motor Show.

The body design of the Mint Concept Car features the Genesis brand's design philosophy of dynamic elegance and the “Ge-matrix” pattern, Hyundai Motor said. In addition, consumers can access its cargo space more conveniently through side doors, rather than a conventional hatch. The interior space was inspired by traditional Korean design and modern European furniture design. The steering wheel was designed to be a rectangle rather than a circle and a user interface information screen was placed around the steering wheel.

The Mint Concept Car can be charged through a 350 kW high-speed charger. The vehicle can run 321 kilometers on a single charge. The Genesis brand will exhibit six models including the Mint Concept Car, the M70, the G70, the G80 Sport and the G90 at the New York Motor Show.
