Lotte World Tower will hold "2019 Lotte World Tower International Sky Run" on April 6.

Sky Run is an international vertical marathon where runners will climb 2,917 steps, which are 555 meters long, from Arena Plaza on the first floor of Lotte World Tower to the 123rd-floor Observatory.

Lotte World Tower is the venue of Sky Run where runners run up to the world's highest point and climb the largest number of steps among Vertical World Circuit (VWC) competitions certified by the International Skyrunning Federation (ISF).

2019 Lotte World Tower International Sky Run will take place as the first of 11 official VWC tournaments to be held this year. In 2018, Piotr Lobodzinski from Poland won the race in the man’s division by recording 15 minutes and 53.56 seconds and Suzy Walsham from Australia became the female champion with a record of 18 minutes and 45.61 seconds.

Among elite athletes, six men and women from 1st to 3rd place in the competition will take home a total of 10 million won (about US$10,000) in prize money and trophies, which is the largest scale among the 11 Sky Run competitions.

Among general amateur runners, the first-place runner will receive Lotte Department Store gift certificates amounting 1,230,000 won. The second ranker will be awarded gift certificates to use Stay Restaurant at Signiel Seoul Hotel of the Lotte World Tower. A set of exercise equipment and trophies will be given the runner who will come in third. In the non-competition sector, prizes will be given to runners who wear extraordinary costumes.
