Sharing Know-how in 5G Commercialization

SK Telecom announced on Feb. 3 that it has signed a memorandum of understanding on developing 5G telecommunication network, media and security technologies with Deutsche Telekom at MWC19 in Barcelona, .

SK Telecom will share its know-how in 5G mobile services and network operation with Deutsche Telecom, which is set to commercialize 5G before long. In addition, they will move forward with joint development and business cooperation in next-generation media technologies and security technologies.

Through this agreement, SK Telecom and Deutsche Telekom have laid the foundation for tapping into the European market based on their technology. SK Telecom expects to create new opportunities not only in the 5G-based media business but also in the security business based on the technological power of both companies and Deutsche Telekom’s strong presence in the European market.

The two companies will also cooperate in developing new businesses and exploring new markets and consider the establishment of an R&D joint venture.
