Core Technology for Autonomous Vehicles

Hyundai Mobis has developed advanced adaptive driving beam (AADB), claiming that it is the first vehicle part producer in the world to develop the technology, which is considered to be an essential element of future autonomous vehicles.

Hyundai Mobis announced on October 24 that it has developed advanced adaptive driving beam (AADB), claiming to be the world's first vehicle part producer to develop the advanced technology, which is considered to be essential to future autonomous vehicles.

With the advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) technology applied, this driving beam secures the field of vision for drivers with the high beam on.

If the conventional adaptive driving beam only detects the light in the front of the camera, the advanced adaptive driving beam analyzes lane information, overtaking vehicle information and road information.

An official from Hyundai Mobis said, "The development of advanced adaptive driving beam is based on securing all relevant core technologies such as cameras, rear side blind spot collision warning (BCW), driving beam, navigation, etc. It will be difficult for global driving beam companies to narrow the technological gap."
