BTS Effect

KB Kookmin Bank has sold more than 120,000 savings plans endorsed by boy band BTS in just three months since its release.

KB Kookmin Bank announced on Oct. 16 that it has sold more than 120,000 savings plans endorsed by South Korea's popular boy band BTS in just three months since its launch.

The “KB X BTS” savings plan, which was released on June 21, is 124,486 units sold as of Oct. 9, with the balance amounting to 67.5 billion won.

If you sign up for this installment deposit offering, you will receive an account book with a BTS image on it. A special preference interest rate will be applied to the deposits in your savings account on the boy band’s debut date and on the birthdays of the group’s seven members.

"The savings plan has received much love from customers as it is a financial product that can actually benefit them," a Kookmin Bank official said.

Meanwhile, the bank has signed an advertising contract with the boy band to promote its online digital financial service platform, which is dubbed "Liiv." BTS members would appear in a commercial film advertising the platform.
