Korea Midland Power announced on September 26 that it has signed an agreement with Hanwha Energy in Nevada for the third phase of a joint solar power development project in Boulder City.

The third phase of the Boulder Solar Power Plant project is designed to supply electric power to 30,000 households in Nevada. The power plants built through the first and second phases, which have a combined capacity of 150 MW, are currently in commercial operation.

The project was launched in 2012. Korea Midland Power set up KOMIPO America in the United States at that time and signed an agreement for joint development with SunPower in 2015. In June and November 2015, first- and second-phase power purchase agreements for 100 MW and 50 MW were concluded with NV Energy.

Hanwha Energy, in the meantime, is planning to handle every stage ranging from project development to financing and power plant operation via its subsidiary company 174 Power Global. Hanwha Energy as a power plant operator signed a power purchase agreement of more than 500 MW with NV Energy.
