Pursuing Nuclear Projects in East Europe
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) is seeking to participate in nuclear power plant construction projects in Poland and the Czech Republic.
KHNP announced on September 20 that it hosted a forum and a B2B meeting on nuclear power plant construction at the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw, Poland.
The event was organized in cooperation with the Korea Nuclear Association for International Cooperation and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency.
Also, KHNP signed a memorandum of understanding with Energoprojekt-Katowice (EPK), a Polish engineering company, for cooperation in new projects in Poland.
Earlier, on September 18, KHNP signed a sponsorship agreement with the Horacka Slavia ice hockey team based in a Czech region where a new atomic power station is expected to be built. Recently, the country officially announced that it would adopt nuclear power. The sponsorship agreement is to increase awareness in the country in advance.
“We will make continuous efforts so that South Korean companies and ourselves can clinch new projects in the Czech Republic and Poland by making use of our 40-year experience in the field of nuclear power plant construction,” said KHNP President Chung Jae-hoon.
