LG Electronics announced on November 11 that it will start selling the G Pad 8.3 “Google Edition” in the US Google Play store.

LG Electronics’ LG G Pad 8.3 tablet will be released equipped with a reference version of Google Android 4.4 Kitkat.

The company announced on November 11 that it will start selling the G Pad 8.3 “Google Edition” on the US Google Play store, priced at US$349.99.

LG previously manufactured Google-reference smartphones such as the Nexus 3 and Nexus 5, but this is the first time that it will be producing Google-referenced tablet PCs.

As such, LG has become an official certified Google product manufacturer just 2 months after entering the tablet pc market.

Google editions will be released with only android’s basic applications as default apps, without manufacturers’ apps installed.

Even with an 8-inch screen, the LG G Pad 8.3 is light and portable, weighing only 338g and with a width of 126.5mm due to the shortened bezel surrounding the screen.
