The third regular album of the Korean boy group BTS rose to the top of the Billboard's main album chart 'Billboard 200', opening a new chapter in K-pop history.

According to the latest chart released by the Billboard on May 27, the BTS’s 'Love Yourself: Tear,’ which was released on May 18, topped the Billboard 200 chart. The new album of the BTS nabbed first place in 12 years since a foreign language album took the top spot on the chart.

The 'Billboard 200' Chart lists the most popular albums in the US based on album sales, track sales, and streaming records.

This was the first time that a Korean artist conquered the chart.

The Billboard classifies all music originated from areas outside the US mainland -- Europe, Asia, Africa, South America and the Middle East into world music. K pop also belongs to the world music category.
