Samsung Electronics stopped servicing upgrades after the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean version of the Galaxy S3 OS caused errors in certain devices.

On November 18 (local time), Samsung Electronics’ exclusive media Sammobile reported Samsung stopped providing the OS upgrade service after some users experienced various errors after updating their Galaxy S3s to Android 4.3.

Samsung Mobile in the UK said, “We are investigating the issues related to Galaxy S3 4.3 Jelly Bean, so we stopped the upgrade service temporarily. We promise to provide the best mobile experience possible to our users, and will resume the upgrade service as quickly as possible.”

Some users who installed Android 4.3 on their Galaxy S3s experienced slow booting and excessive battery and RAM usage. Also, they experienced frequent screen freezes and unstable Wi-Fi. It was also impossible to listen to music using Bluetooth. In Korea, some users continued to repeatedly receive Kakao Talk notifications and/or could not access the photo viewer changing options.

Sammobile mentioned that Samsung Electronics rushed its OS upgrade to make the  Galaxy S3 compatible with the Galaxy Gear, causing these premature errors to appear.
