Collaboration with Meridian Audio
LG Electronics Inc. has released a new soundbar speaker in collaboration with Meridian Audio Ltd. Meridian is one of the largest audio manufacturers in the United Kingdom.
The company announced on May 7 that the SK10Y soundbar speaker for 2018 is equipped with its own sound technology that was jointly developed with Meridian. The product is integrated with LG Electronics’ audio technology and Meridian’s signal processing technology and tuning technology.
The SK10Y also supports Dolby Atmos, a stereophonic sound system. Dolby Atmos automatically adjusts the sound setting according to what’s playing on the screen in order to provide exceptional sound experiences for listeners. For instance, the system automatically adjusts the sound coming of the speaker behind a viewer when he or she watches the screen in where a helicopter flies overhead.
The SK10Y delivers 550W of ground-breaking output and supports 5.1.2 channels, which means five surround speakers, including the left, center, right on the front and the left and right on the back, one subwoofer and two height channel speakers. These are optimized in order to realize Dolby Atmos.
LG Electronics’ new soundbar product support up to 24-bit high-resolution audio. They also can easily stream music provided by YouTube and other music streaming sites, including Bugs, via smartphones.
