Paris Baguette, a bakery brand of SPC Group (Chairman Hur Young-in), is making its entry into Italy.

SPC Group announced that Chairman Hur Young-in met with Mario Pascucci, the CEO and third-generation founder of the Italian coffee brand Pascucci, who visited Korea on March 24 to sign a master franchise agreement for Paris Baguette in Italy.

This agreement is the fruit of about a year’s negotiations between the two companies. Following France and the United Kingdom, Italy becomes the third European country Paris Baguette has entered. After the signing ceremony, Chairman Hur Young-in and CEO Mario Pascucci toured the flagship store Lab of Paris Baguette in Pangyo, which could serve as a model for Paris Baguette stores in Italy, and the Centro Yangjae store, a representative Pascucci store in Korea.

Pascucci, established in 1883 in Monte Cerignone, Italy, is a traditional Italian espresso brand that has expanded into 17 countries around the world. SPC Group first introduced it to Korea in 2002.

Thanks to SPC Group’s expertise in the food and dining sector and franchise business acumen, Korea has the largest number of Pascucci stores in the world. Now, with Pascucci introducing Paris Baguette into Italy and helping to expand into the European market, the collaboration between the two companies is expected to strengthen further through this cross-entry.

Chairman Hur Young-in of SPC Group stated, “Italy, with the largest and most diverse bakery market in Europe, is a very important market. I am very pleased and reassured to collaborate on our entry with Pascucci, with whom we have had a long relationship. We will work to expand our cooperation and carry out various activities together to contribute to the promotion of friendly cooperation between the two countries.”
