HD Hyundai Construction Equipment recently announced on March 20 that it has signed a contract for the supply of 60 construction machines, including 6 units of 34-ton large excavators and 36 units of 22-ton medium excavators in Sudan.
Despite a nearly half decrease in excavator sales in the African market from about 500 units in 2021 due to COVID-19, HD Hyundai Construction Equipment’s sales performance is showing signs of recovery this year.
The company expects its first-quarter sales in the African market this year to grow by about 50% compared to the same period last year, and its annual performance is expected to recover to levels close to those before the COVID-19 pandemic.
To expand sales, HD Hyundai Construction Equipment is diversifying its sales channels and enhancing its sales network by discovering large dealers. It has designated regional dealers to handle sales in neighboring countries, including seven countries in West Africa such as Mauritania. In the first half of this year, the company signed new dealer contracts in places like South Sudan and Ethiopia.
