NH Nonghyup Bank announced on March 28 that its president Lee Dae-hoon met with Jeffrey Jones, chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM Korea) at the new NH Nonghyup Bank building in Seoul, on March 26 to discuss bilateral cooperation.

At the meeting, the two heads discussed the economic mechanism in South Korea and the United States and discussed ways to cooperate in the private sector. In particular, Lee asked both the U.S. and the international community to take an interest in the public value of agriculture and provide support for the agricultural cooperative federation.

AMCHAM Korea Chairman Jeffrey Jones also discussed ways to collaborate with global platform companies in the U.S. which seek to enter the South Korean market or to cooperate with South Korean financial institutions. He sought ways to help global platform firms work together with domestic financial institutions within the institutional systems and develop innovative business models like Nonghyup’s financial API.

NH Nonghyup Bank President Lee Dae-hoon said, “NH Nonghyup Bank is the leading bank in the agriculture sector based on South Korea’s cooperative association. We will come up with plans to put the value of cooperative association into practice and mutually grow with global leading companies through various partnerships with companies that belong to the AMCHAM Korea.”
