South Korean fashion company ShinWon Corporation (CEO: JJ Park) is conducting the global campaign #WithUs to commemorate International Women’s Day.

Every year on March 8th, designated by the United Nations (UN) in 1975, is International Women's Day. Celebrating its 116th year this year, International Women's Day commemorates the campaign that took place in 1908 in New York where 15,000 women garment workers marched for shorter work hours, better pay, voting rights, and an end to child labor.

ShinWon Corporation's executive team consists of over 30% women, and more than 60% of its employees are women. In the Asian and Central American factories, the proportion of female workers reaches 80%. Therefore, ShinWon, including its global corporation such as the Korean headquarters, embraces everyone working together for change, under the slogan “#WithUs,” signifying a commitment to listening to the voices of women and conducting various campaigns.

In Nicaragua, women employees are being presented with bread and roses as gifts to share the meaning of Women's Day. In Guatemala, local bands have been invited to perform in celebration of Women's Day. Additionally, in Vietnam, preparations are underway for a gala concert themed “Warm Spring of Love (XUÂN ẤM TÌNH THƯƠNG),” providing a special time to recognize efforts for women’s rights and equality.

ShinWon operates various support programs, reflecting the characteristics of industries with a high proportion of women workers. CEO JJ Park is an active Steering Board member of 'RISE (Reimagining Industry to Support Equality),' which was established last year, leading efforts to enhance the rights of women workers. RISE is a global collaborative organization dedicated to improving the working environment for women workers, expanding their influence, and achieving gender equality. As the only representative from the global garment, footwear and home furnishings supply chains, Park joined the RISE Steering Board and is striving for sustainable growth.

CEO JJ Park stated, “Since joining RISE, I aim to represent the voices of the global supply chains, have wider impact on promoting gender equality, and improve working conditions for the industry and especially collaborate closely this year on workplace training for women workers in overseas production subsidiaries to strengthening knowledge and skills for equal opportunities.”

Meanwhile, ShinWon’s export division operates with over 30,000 employees based in overseas production bases in Guatemala, Vietnam, Indonesia, Nicaragua, Bangladesh, China, and India. Additionally, the company has organized and operates the DEI&B (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) Committee to create a corporate culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusivity in the global era, actively practicing ESG management.
