NPCore, a cybersecurity company specializing in network and endpoint security, recently conducted a cybersecurity workshop in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in collaboration with its local partner, TechLab. The event, held on February 29th, was particularly timely, given the recent spate of cyber threats in the region, including ransomware attacks on three major local corporations earlier in the year and ongoing security challenges faced by various sectors over the past three years.

This workshop attracted a wide array of participants, including cybersecurity experts from local banks, investment firms, digital payment companies, prominent airlines, and several funds. The sessions covered global cyberattack trends, examined specific security incidents within Malaysia, and discussed prevalent data breach situations. NPCore showcased its comprehensive suite of solutions, including technologies for preventing infections on networks, emails, and intranets, along with their endpoint detection and response (EDR) capabilities, garnering positive feedback from attendees.

The event's significance was underscored by the recent surge in hacking incidents in Malaysia, heightening interest in the advanced cybersecurity solutions offered by South Korean firms like NPCore. Notable incidents in Malaysia have included significant data breaches affecting millions, such as those at Maybank, WhatsApp users, AirAsia, and the online marketplace Carousell, underscoring the critical need for robust cybersecurity defenses.

Chris Kim, the Chief Brand Officer at NPCore, highlighted the company’s distinctive market position, driven by its in-house development of proprietary technologies, distinguishing itself from competitors who might rely on reselling or distributing externally sourced products. The workshop's success has bolstered NPCore's resolve to intensify its engagement in the Southeast Asian cybersecurity market, leveraging the strong interest shown by local businesses and institutions in the face of growing cybersecurity threats.

This initiative by NPCore reflects a strategic move to enhance cybersecurity awareness and resilience in Malaysia, showcasing the company’s commitment to extending its expertise and innovative solutions across Southeast Asia amidst an increasingly complex cyber threat landscape.
