Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC) announced on March 5 that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Munich Airport to expand educational cooperation at the Munich Airport Education Center in Germany on March 4.

About 15 people attended the signing ceremony, including IIAC President Lee Hak-jae, Munich Airport President Jost Lammers, and representatives from the training departments of both organizations.

The Munich Airport Aviation Training Center is part of the Munich Airport Group and offers 3,200 courses to 16,000 employees of the Munich Airport Group and trainees from across Europe annually, with particular strengths in airport operations and services.

Since its opening in 2008, IIAC’s Human Resources Development Center has signed agreements with about 40 educational institutions in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. It has been operating a global training program focused on transferring expertise in the construction and operation of Incheon Airport to aviation officials from developing countries.

Through this cooperation agreement with Munich Airport, a leading European airport, IIAC will strengthen collaboration in areas such as airport operations, service, quality management, and ESG where Munich Airport excels.

In particular, IIAC plans to develop and operate a new aviation training program with Munich Airport to diversify aviation training courses and promote the qualitative growth of aviation training provided by IIAC’s Human Resources Development Center.
