Samsung is set to hire a large amount of foreign talent in the research and development (R&D) sector. According to industry sources on Feb. 21, Samsung Electronics, Samsung Display, Samsung SDI, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Samsung SDS, Samsung Biologics, Samsung Bioepis, and Samsung Heavy Industries are among those recruiting foreign experienced professionals in the R&D sector. Samsung Engineering and the construction division of Samsung C&T are also hiring foreign professionals in the technical field.
This marks the second time that foreign experienced professionals are being recruited to work in Korea, following last year. Last year, Samsung Electronics, Samsung Display, and Samsung SDI were the only ones recruiting in the R&D sector, but this year, other affiliates have expanded their recruitment. Samsung has limited the application eligibility to those who have at least a level 3 proficiency in the Korean Language Proficiency Test (TOPIK), as the recruited foreign workforce will be performing tasks at the domestic business sites of each affiliate, alongside their Korean colleagues.
Applicants are welcome to submit their applications through the Samsung careers website until March 6. The device experience division of Samsung Electronics is recruiting experienced professionals to work on system software development, circuit development for display modules, and robot mechanism design and verification. The Device Solutions division is seeking talent for system optimization technology, Neural Processing Unit architecture tasks, foundry yield analysis, fab process equipment technology, and global corporate environmental response strategies.
Additionally, Samsung Electronics is currently conducting a large-scale experienced professional recruitment drive, separate from this. It is highly unusual for the Device Experience division, which handles TV, appliances, and mobile businesses, to recruit experienced professionals across almost all job categories at once, with over 90 positions being recruited. The Device Solutions division is also recruiting experienced professionals for approximately 800 positions.
