Hanwha Aerospace and Hanwha Systems announced today that they have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Saudi Ministry of National Guard to explore industrial opportunities in the Land Systems. Hanwha is strengthening and growing its partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support the Kingdom’s goal to localize the defense sector.
The MOU, signed during the 'World Defense Show 2024' held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, marks a significant milestone in Hanwha's strategic alignment with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to respond to the increasing security demands and foster local defense industries in the Middle East.
Intended to support increasing current future demand due to regional security needs in the Middle East, Hanwha and the Saudi Ministry of National Guard have signed the MoU to explore the partnership to further the Ministry of National Guard's mid- to long-term acquisition goals in a variety of disciplines. The scope of potential partnership includes the production of armored vehicles as well as advanced monitoring and reconnaissance systems, leveraging robotics and satellites technologies.
An official from Hanwha stated, “We are excited to begin exploring opportunities with the Ministry of National Guard. By supporting the military sector, we hope to develop our strategic cooperative relationship over the medium to long term and contribute to Saudi Arabia's industrialization and security.”
