IMM Investment has joined the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UN PRI) to strengthen responsible investment.

As of January 2024, IMM Investment announced that it officially signed and completed the formal membership process with the UN PRI. IMM Investment stated that the membership marks a significant step towards realizing sustainable investment and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) values.

UN PRI was established in 2006 under the leadership of the United Nations to promote ESG investing among global institutional investors. With over 5,300 institutional members, UN PRI oversees the management of assets totalling more than 121 trillion USD (approximately 17.4 quadrillion KRW). UN PRI sets high standards for investment firms in various aspects, including environmental, social responsibility, and corporate governance. It encourages collaboration among member companies to promote sustainable investment practices.

As a leading alternative investment specialist in the domestic market, IMM Investment officially signed and completed its membership with UN PRI in January this year. The company has been actively working to enhance the sustainability of investment assets for several years by establishing ESG regulations and strictly applying them to portfolio companies throughout the investment and post-management process.

In 2022, IMM Investment introduced the Stewardship Code and publicly disclosed policies to perform responsibilities as a trustee, thereby enhancing trust from investors involved in fund management. Stewardship code refers to the responsibility of institutional investors to actively participate in corporate decision-making, aiming to improve the long-term value of the invested companies. This involvement is intended to promote the long-term interests of both clients and beneficiaries by inducing improvements in the performance of investment targets. Additionally, IMM Investment has established its own ESG committee and actively addresses relevant issues through dedicated organizations and working committees.

IMM Investment official stated, “Our recent membership in UN PRI reflects a strong commitment to fulfilling a higher level of responsibility and obligation in sustainable investing than ever before” The official added, “In the future, we will continue considering various environmental and social aspects in investment decisions.
