Doosan Bobcat has successfully commercialized Korea’s first hydrogen forklift.
Doosan Bobcat announced on Jan. 31 that they held a “First Hydrogen Forklift Rollout Ceremony” at their forklift factory in Incheon on Jan. 30.
The shipped first hydrogen forklift from Doosan Bobcat is a 3-ton model equipped with a 20-kilowatt (kW) fuel cell. After passing tests conducted by the Construction Equipment Research Institute, it is scheduled to be delivered to the Korea Zinc Onsan Refinery. While there have been prototype hydrogen forklifts displayed previously, Doosan Bobcat is the first to develop, prepare for commercialization, and ship a product.
Doosan Bobcat aims to supply over 30 hydrogen forklifts to the market this year once certification for their 3-ton model with a 10 kW fuel cell is complete. Furthermore, they plan to diversify their hydrogen forklift lineup with 2-ton and 5-ton models, and in collaboration with Doosan Corporation they are expanding their portfolio of hydrogen-based products, including the development of a skid loader.
