Bentley Motors announced on Jan. 29 that it delivered a total of 13,560 units in the global market last year, the third highest performance in its history.

In South Korea alone, the automaker sold a total of 810 vehicles in 2023. For the second year in a row, South Korea ranked fifth in Bentley sales in the world.

Bentley’s global sales last year were down about 11 percent from 2022. However, the number of customers seeking personalized, bespoke vehicles increased by 43 percent compared to 2022. Nearly three-quarters of Bentley vehicles delivered globally last year were customized through Mulliner, the company’s dedicated bespoke division.

The Bentayga, a pioneer model in the luxury sport utility vehicle (SUV) market, was Bentley’s most popular model in 2023. The Bentayga (including The New Bentayga EWB) accounted for 44 percent of Bentley’s global sales last year.

The Grand Tourer Continental GT lineup, which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2023, also continues to be a popular model, accounting for 31 percent of the car maker’s global sales. The Flying Spur, a flagship grand touring luxury sedan that surpassed 2,000 cumulative sales in Korea last year, accounted for 25 percent of global sales.

The Asia-Pacific region to which Korea belongs posted the highest growth rate of Bentley sales in the world. Last year, 2,211 units were sold in the region, up 4 percent year over year.

In particular, Bentley Motors Korea sold a total of 810 units based on KAIDA registrations in South Korea in 2023, making the nation the largest Bentley market in the region for the second consecutive year and the fifth largest market in the world. This was the third consecutive year that the brand has broken its all-time sales record, following 506 units in 2021 and 775 units in 2022.

“Bentley continued its solid sales performance in South Korea last year,” said Christian Schlick, general manager of Bentley Motors Korea. “With better products and services and new and differentiated lifestyle propositions, we will consolidate our position as a leading brand in the Korean luxury car market.”
