‘Sky Run’

The 2018 Lotte World Tower International Vertical Marathon 'SKY RUN' will be held on May 13. A total of 1,500 people will run. Excluding professional athletes and corporate participants, the participants will total 1,400.

The Lotte World Tower Scarlet is an official event recognized by the Vertical World Circuit (VWC) under the International Skyrunning Federation (ISF), the organization that holds the International Vertical Marathon. Participants will run to the highest point of 555m and on up to 2917.

Thus, its scale outclasses 541m, 2226 steps of One World Trade Center in New York, 260m and 1504 steps of Sydney Tower in Sydney, 484m and 2120 steps of ICC in Hong Kong and 2120stairs. Sky Run is held every year in 10 cities including New York, London, Sydney and Hong Kong.

Australia's Mark Vaughn won the championship with 15 minutes and 44 seconds in 2017. People who want to participate in the event will be able to sign up for the Lotte World Tower Sky Run on the Lotte World Tower official website beginning at 9:00 am on March 19.

The top three male and female winners will take home a total of 10 million won (about US$9,000) in prize money and trophies.
