Com2us will launch three new games for the global game market in different genres in the first half of the year. “Our goal is to see all three new games reach top 10 in sales in the global market,” said Han Ji-hoon, head of the game industry division at Com2us.

Com2us revealed the details of the three new games to be launched in the first half of the year at its media showcase, The NEXT STAGE, on Jan. 25. This year, the company will focus on expanding its service lineups and strengthening its global partnerships. To kick off the change, the company will release the three new games in the first half of the year. The three new games are Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice, BTS Cooking On: TinyTAN Restaurant, and Starseed: Asnia Trigger.

“We intend to actively promote our publishing business by utilizing the development, business know-how, and network we have accumulated over the years,” said Lee Ju-hwan, CEO of Com2us. “We intend to open the door to change with three games with high potential in each genre.”

Com2us has focused on in-house development including the Summoners War series and Korean Baseball Game. Going forward, the company will expand its overseas market by strengthening its publishing lineups, starting with the new games.

Starseed, which is being developed by local game company Mojito Games, is a Japanese animation style collectible game that features high-quality 3D graphics and animation. In the released video, the game showcases auto-battler-style battles reminiscent of Eversoul and Neural Cloud fought by eight characters, nurturing elements utilizing cute characters and a system for interacting with the characters through an Instagram-like messenger.

BTS Cooking On, developed by Grampus, is a casual cooking simulation game utilizing BTS characters. It is a game in which you travel around the world and run a restaurant with TinyTAN characters who are big-head versions of BTS characters and features elements such as cooking food and serving it in a timely manner. The game also includes a system for collecting photo cards of the TinyTAN characters, decorating BTS’ stage and playing the game with music.

Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice is a mobile version of Frostpunk from Polish game developer 11 Bit Studios. It puts players in charge of a 19th-century city that is suddenly hit by an ice age, and they must take good care of its inhabitants so that they will be able to survive. Players are faced with a number of moral dilemmas and must make multiple choices to manage the city with limited resources.

“All three games will hit the game market in the first half of this year,” said Han Ji-hoon, head of Com2us’ Games Business Division. “We are also preparing to launch Summoners War in China. In the first half of next year, we will release authentic massively multiplayer online role playing game The Starlight.”
