Samsung Electronics announced on Jan. 16 that its 2024 The Frame has become the first display to receive an ArtfulColor Validation certification from Pantone, recognizing its outstanding color reproduction and differentiated picture quality.

Pantone, the global color company, awards an Artful Color Validation certification by evaluating how accurately a display reproduces a 24-color standard pattern board defined by Pantone in a standard light source (D65) environment as defined by the Commission international de léclairage (CIE), or or the International Commission on Illumination. The CIE is devoted to worldwide cooperation and the exchange of information on all matters relating to the science and art of light and lighting, color and vision, photobiology and image technology.

This certification is specific to The Frame’s Art Mode which automatically adjusts the brightness and color tones of content based on surrounding light environments.

The Frame’s superior color reproduction under standard light sources such as home or gallery lighting enables users to more fully appreciate nearly 2,300 pieces of art content available on Samsung Store.

The Frame was also validated by PANTONE in 2022 which means it accurately represents thousands of Pantone Matching System (PMS) colors and skin tones.

Other features include QLED 4K picture quality and a matte display that reduces light reflection for differentiated digital art experiences.
