'A New Beginning in 2024 - Changes in the Ecosystem of Media and Entertainment'

"AI is All, FAST is Fast, Death of Linear TV, Content Format Shift, M&A, Advertising, Bundling"

These are the keywords that will dominate the domestic and international media, broadcast communication, and entertainment technology markets in 2024.

Direct MediaLab, The Core, and the Digital Industry Policy Research Institute, the country's three leading news and research organizations specializing in entertainment and media, will jointly hold a seminar to capture the future and new opportunities in the domestic and international media, entertainment, and broadcast communication markets.

The theme of the seminar, which will be held in conjunction with CES2024, the world's largest IT and content innovation seminar, is "A New Beginning-2024 Changes in the Communication Media Content Entertainment Business Ecosystem.

In 2023, the entertainment technology, media, and telecommunications markets underwent many changes, especially the dominance of AI, changes in content revenue models, and M&A, which shook the existing market order. In this seminar, we have prepared presentations and discussions focusing on business model changes and operators' responses in 2024.

[New Beginnings and New Business Models]

The seminar will present common keywords that apply to all players in the media market, including big tech, entertainment, studios, streaming, telecom operators, and social media services, and forecast solutions to survive in the new order.

The seminar will feature presentations on the 2024 global media, telecommunication, and platform outlook, as well as special sessions with representatives from relevant companies. The event will be held in person at CES IN Nevada, USA, with online presentations connected to Korea.

Following the opening and congratulatory remarks, the seminar will begin with a presentation on the 2024 outlook for AI, Big Tech, and Social Media by Dr. Jungsoo Kang, Director of The Core. Next, Dr. Changhee Noh, Director of the Digital Industry Policy Institute, will present a summary of issues and prospects in the domestic media and content sector.  

The presentations by Dr. Kang and Dr. Noh will be available online in Korea.  DirectMediaLab will summarize key changes that Korean media companies need to know, including "CES and Media 2024 Entertainment Technology Market Forecast.

[K-content platforms taking on global challenges with innovative business models].

Following the experts' presentations, companies will present their strategies. Mr. KunHee Park, CEO of KOCOWA, the world's No. 1 K-content streaming platform, will present business strategies on the topic of "KOCOWA and K-content in 2024," and Mr. Park Chul-min, CEO of AIPark, a company that plans AI digital humans and new types of stations that are changing the media ecosystem in the AI era, will introduce technology trends.

After the presentations and business strategies, a comprehensive discussion on 'CES and 2024 Entertainment Technology Market Outlook' will be held.

The in-person event will be held at the Desert Research Institute (DRI) Conference Center, 755 E. Flamingo Rd. Las Vegas, NV 89119, a seven-minute drive from the LVCC show floor.

On-site attendees will also receive a copy of the 2024 Global Entertainment Technology Report (focusing on AI and Broadcast, Big Tech, Social, and Streaming), which will be available as an online course after the seminar (fee, member discount). The event will be translated into English.
