Devsisters’ mobile RPG “Cookie Run: Kingdom” has reached the No. 2 spot on the local app market’s popularity rankings shortly after its release in China.

Devsisters announced on Dec. 28 that Cookie Run: Kingdom was released at 7 a.m. in China on Dec. 27 through China’s major Android app market and Apple’s App Store.

Within about an hour of its launch, the game took No. 2 place on the Apple App Store in China. On app market platforms “Taptap” and “Bilibili,” the game is currently ranked third in popularity and is rapidly climbing the ranking ladder.

Tencent and Changyu are co-publishers of Cookie Run: Kingdom along with Devsisters. As part of the localization of the mobile game, Devsisters has inserted original Chinese characters and background music.

“We are happy to release Cookie Run: Kingdom, a globally popular game with 10 million Chinese users without changing its original experiences and casualness,” said a representative from Studio Kingdom. “We are excited to continue to prepare various localized content with Chinese publishers based on Cookie Run IP that can embrace various cultures.”
