HD Hyundai announced that it will build HD Hyundai’s artificial intelligence (AI) platform based on Google Cloud’s technologies and solutions.
Through this collaboration with Google, HD Hyundai plans to accelerate its digital transformation by introducing generative AI technology to its core businesses, including shipbuilding and construction machinery.
Generative AI refers to artificial intelligence technology that creates new content by utilizing previously collected original data such as text, audio, images and video.
One example of generative AI is Gemini, an AI-powered large language model (LLM) that Google unveiled earlier this month. Gemini is built into Vertex AI and AI Studio, Google Cloud’s enterprise-customized AI platform. Going forward, HD Hyundai will have access to a variety of solutions, including Vertex AI on Google Cloud, to grow its experience across multiple industries.
Together with Google Cloud, HD Hyundai will prioritize tasks with high business impacts such as developing industry AI solutions and services, developing AI-based platforms to enhance customer digital experiences and training AI experts, starting in January next year.
Since July, HD Hyundai has been building a generative AI service at the HD Hyundai Construction Equipment Call Center as a pilot project with Google Cloud. The company plans to map out a mid- to long-term AI road map to lead digital transformations along with business innovation.
