Following LG Electronics’ entry into a 29 percent discount promotion to commemorate the LG Twins’ victory in the 2023 Korean Series, Samsung Electronics has also launched a discount campaign. As the year end approaches, two major players in the domestic home appliance industry, LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics, are unfolding many discount events.
According to industry sources on Nov. 20, LG Electronics has decided to host the “LG Win-Win Festival” starting from Nov. 21, which is distinct from its recent involvement in the Korea Sale Festa, as it is to celebrate LG Twins’ first victory in the Korean Series after 29 years. The festival will involve a home appliance discount sale with a set discount rate of 29 percent.
The specific discounted items have not been announced yet. Details of the discounted products will be revealed on the day of the event, Nov. 21, through LG Electronics’ online brand shop.
Samsung Electronics is also responding to LG by hosting the “Samsung Week Black Friday” discount event. In addition, the annual Samsung Electronics Sale Fiesta, which traditionally occurs at the beginning of each year, is scheduled to take place, offering the anticipation of even more discount benefits.
At the Samsung Electronics’ online brand shop, Samsung.com, customers can enjoy discounts of up to 47 percent when purchasing two or more items simultaneously, such as refrigerators and washing machines, compared to regular prices. Single products also qualify for discounts ranging from 20 percent to 40 percent.
When using Samsung Card for payment, unique discounts are applied based on the transaction amount. Purchases exceeding 20 million won (US$15,450) receive a discount of 900,000 won, those over 15 million won receive a 700,000 won discount, and payments above 10 million won qualify for a 500,000 won reduction.
