Doosan Bobcat has announced on Nov. 8 its plan to invest approximately 400 billion won (USD 300 million) to construct a new factory in the Monterrey area of Nuevo León, Mexico.

The new Monterrey plant, with an area of about 65,000 square meters, will produce M-Series loaders, Doosan Bobcat’s flagship products, to supply the North American market. The existing Gwinner factory in North Dakota in the U.S., which currently produces these products, will focus on manufacturing the premium R-Series loaders.

The new Monterrey facility is expected to commence operations in early 2026. Through the operation of the new plant and the improved efficiency of existing manufacturing processes, Doosan Bobcat’s production capacity for loaders destined for the North American market is expected to increase by about 20%. This expansion is anticipated to enable the company to respond more agilely to market demand.

With the new Monterrey plant, Doosan Bobcat will expand its production bases to eight countries, including existing facilities in South Korea, the United States, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, India, and China. Monterrey, a leading industrial city in Mexico, boasts a rich labor force and competitive labor costs. Its proximity to the U.S. border and the benefits of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), which include tariff exemptions, further enhance its strategic value.
