Artificial Solar Lighting
Cheonho Station of Seoul Subway Lines 5 and 8 will have the world's first artificial solar lighting system in subway history.
Seoul Metro announced on February 6 that the company would create the 'Sunshine Zone' in the form of a circular plaza in Cheonho Station.
The Sunshine Zone is a space with artificial solar lighting. Standing here and looking at the window, people can feel as if they were in the sunshine.
The Artificial Solar Lighting System is called wellbeing lighting as solar lighting has characteristics similar to natural lighting. According to a 2015 study by the University of Innsbruck in Austria, this light ramps up comfort 38% and prunes stress 15% compared to general lighting. Cheonho Station was remodeled as a complex shopping mall after Enter Six was selected as a shopping mall development company in July of last year.
