Hahn & Company (“Hahn & Co.”), South Korea’s largest private equity firm, announced today that it has signed definitive agreements with SK Group’s affiliate, SKC, to acquire its fine ceramics business for KRW360 billion (US$267 million).

SKC’s fine ceramics business produces high-purity quartz and silicon carbide consumable materials for advanced semiconductor manufacturing process. The business is a market leader with over 30 years of experience and is an integral part of the global semiconductor industry in Korea.

This transaction further builds on Hahn & Co.’s track record of investing in Korean businesses that serve globally competitive industries. Hahn & Co. is the largest private equity firm in Korea with over US$28 billion invested to date. This acquisition will represent Hahn & Co.’s thirty-fifth acquisition in the country.
