They began construction in January of the previous year and completed the first phase of the factory, with a capacity of 450,000 tons, on Oct. 19. The second phase is scheduled for completion in May 2024.

With the integration of Guangdong Pohang, a 450,000-ton capacity coated steel plate factory that POSCO operates in Guangdong Province, China, HBIS-Pohang will have a total production capacity of 1.35 million tons.
