On Sept. 17, CJ Logistics announced its participation in Ukraine’s reconstruction projects as a part of the joint public-private “Ukrainian Reconstruction Cooperation Delegation.”

Led by Won Hee-ryong, the minister of land, infrastructure, and transport, the Ukrainian Reconstruction Cooperation Delegation comprises government agencies such as the Ministry of Land and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, as well as private companies. Among logistics companies, only CJ Logistics is participating.

For this purpose, Kang Byung-goo, the head of CJ Logistics’ Global Division, attended the “South Korea-Ukraine Reconstruction Cooperation Forum” held in Kyiv from the Sept. 13 to 14 to discuss various collaborative measures.

CJ Logistics has agreed to collaborate on the development of an inland port in the Lutsk region capable of accommodating more than 5 million tons of cargo with the JJ Group, which was established around the Ukrainian Sokrat Investment Group. Located in the northwest of Ukraine, Lutsk is considered a key location for rail and ground transport. CJ Logistics and JJ Group plan to support the transportation of food resources through inland ports that connect ports and rail transport.

They also plan to expand cooperation with participating companies for the transportation of equipment and construction materials for the six major projects driven by the government for essential facility recovery.

In the medium to long term, discussions on logistics cooperation in preparation for the entry of Korean products will also be conducted with the Ukrainian Postal Service.
