KT announced on Sept. 15 that they have proposed an AMI solution, considered one of the essential infrastructures for national reconstruction, at the Korea-Ukraine Reconstruction Cooperation Forum held in Kyiv, Ukraine, on Sept. 14 under the auspices of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport.

Participating as a company of “One Team Korea,” KT made its proposal presentation titled “ICT Partner for Ukraine” in the presence of Won Hee-ryong, the minister of land, infrastructure, and transport, as well as various key Ukrainian government officials including the Deputy Prime Minister and other ministers.

At the Korea-Ukraine Reconstruction Cooperation Forum, KT emphasized that by adopting a government-dedicated Public Safety LTE (PS-LTE) network, Ukraine can establish a rapid response system in emergencies with high security. Furthermore, by building a military-dedicated network (M-BcN), Ukraine can ensure stable communication, continuous situational operations, and precise defense operations. It’s worth noting that in 2018 KT became the first company in the world to construct and implement South Korea’s national disaster network.

Additionally, KT suggested that by constructing a quantum cryptography solution, national security could be enhanced. They also proposed the establishment of a government-dedicated IDC (G-IDC) to facilitate integrated and stable data management and operation for the Ukrainian government.

Notably, Ukraine’s current electricity production has decreased by more than 50% compared to pre-war levels. KT proposed that its state-of-the-art Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) solution can assist Ukraine in efficiently managing and operating energy, potentially alleviating its power shortage.
