Hyundai Engineering & Construction (Hyundai E&C) is taking steps to establish a collaboration network with local institutions and companies in Poland, aiming to lay the groundwork for its foray into Eastern Europe’s nuclear, renewable energy, and infrastructure sectors.

Hyundai E&C announced that they had signed a “business agreement for new nuclear power projects” with the Polish Association of Construction Industry Employers in Warsaw, Poland’s capital, on Sept. 12 (local time).

The signing ceremony was attended by Yoon Young-jun, CEO of Hyundai E&C; Damian Kazmierczak, Chief Economist of the Polish Association of Construction Employers; and other key representatives from both parties. Both companies will actively explore cooperative strategies for new nuclear power projects through vibrant exchanges on Poland’s construction policies, industry trends, local information, and specialized technologies.

Subsequently, Hyundai E&C also signed a “business agreement for nuclear R&D and research reactor collaboration” with the National Centre for Nuclear Research (NCBJ) in Poland. Through this agreement, both entities have agreed to establish a comprehensive cooperative framework on nuclear power R&D, research reactors, nuclear safety, and the exchange of nuclear technology and personnel.

Following this agreement, Hyundai E&C will solidify its foundation for constructing new nuclear power plants in Poland. Moreover, the company has signed business agreements for collaboration in the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors with Poland’s prominent construction companies ERBUD and UNIBEP. Hyundai E&C plans to maintain close cooperation in areas like new airports, urban infrastructure, and smart cities.
