Three defense affiliates of Hanwha Group are set to showcase “next-generation weapon systems” in Poland to actively address Europe’s security needs.

Hanwha Aerospace, Hanwha Systems, and Hanwha Ocean will present advanced weapon systems in the unmanned and ground, maritime, air, and space sectors at the International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO) held in Kielce, Poland from Sept. 5 to 8, as announced on Sept. 5. Notably, at the entrance of the exhibition hall, the Chunmoo rocket launcher from Hanwha Aerospace combined with a vehicle from Poland’s Jelcz, known as the Chunmoo system (HOMAR-K in Polish), will be displayed alongside the U.S. multi-rocket system HIMARS.

Hanwha Systems will unveil the Synthetic Aperture Sonar (SAS) Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) that accurately maps underwater terrain, and the Side-Scan Sonar (SSS) AUV which can sketch three-dimensional terrain even in murky waters. At this exhibition, Hanwha will propose advanced defense solutions in the land, sea, and air sectors to actively respond to Europe’s post-war reconstruction and upcoming weapon replacement needs.

In particular, an “Explosive Detection and Removal Robot” will be publicly revealed for the first time ahead of its domestic mass production. This is a crucial technology aimed at minimizing civilian casualties after a war and reconstructing Europe’s future. It is a world-leading unmanned device that swiftly and safely detects landmines without deploying troops.

Hanwha Aerospace will introduce the Redback, selected by the Australian government in July as a priority negotiation target, as a new alternative to countries like Poland and Romania, which are planning to introduce armored vehicles.

Hanwha Ocean will target the maritime defense market by showcasing a model of the 3000-ton submarine “KSS-III Batch-II.” This model is the world’s second diesel hybrid submarine to incorporate a lithium-ion battery.

Hanwha Systems will reveal the optimal technology that connects ground, maritime, and air weapon systems in real-time networks under the worst conditions in space, paving the way for “future combat.”

Hanwha Group stated, “We anticipate next-generation collaborative projects based on the trust between South Korea and Poland at this exhibition” and “We hope that rapid secondary exports will lead to Korean weapon systems significantly contributing to free faction security with Europe as a base.”
