Samsung SDS revealed on Aug. 4 its plans to enhance its cloud business competitiveness in collaboration with global open-source solution companies Red Hat and IBM.

Through this partnership, Samsung SDS will offer Red Hat's OpenShift on its Samsung Cloud Platform (SCP). Additionally, joint sales and enhanced technical support are in the pipeline. They will also collaborate to configure IBM software applications to be usable on Samsung Cloud Platform's OpenShift.

Red Hat's OpenShift, based on Kubernetes, supports the rapid development, deployment, and operation of business applications in various cloud environments.

Customers using the Samsung Cloud Platform can operate their enterprise systems faster and more reliably through OpenShift. Moreover, they can more easily establish private cloud environments tailored for clients in sectors requiring high-level security, such as finance and public services.

Recently, Samsung SDS has been targeting the enterprise cloud market centered on the custom Samsung Cloud Platform (SCP), all-in-one managed cloud services, and Samsung Enterprise Software-as-a-Service (SaaS).

Koo Hyeong-jun, a vice president and head of Cloud Services Business at Samsung SDS, said, "By integrating Samsung SDS's industry expertise with services from IBM and Red Hat, we will expand our cloud business and actively support the digital transformation to enhance customer business value."
