Discussing Business Collaboration

Chey Jae-won, Vice Chairman of SK Group, met with Ola Källenius, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Mercedes-Benz Group, to explore potential business collaborations. The meeting, which took place at the SK building on Aug. 23, was announced by SK Group. The discussions centered on the expansion of collaborative efforts in the electric vehicle (EV) business sector, including EV batteries and Tmap products and services.

Vice Chairman Chey emphasized that the Mercedes-Benz Group has been a longstanding business partner and major client of SK. He expressed hope that Källenius’ visit will further bolster the collaboration between the two companies. On his part, Källenius, accompanied by the management team of Mercedes-Benz Korea, visited the SK building. The Benz side revealed that they discussed a variety of collaboration opportunities with SK Group, including battery supplies and Tmap provisions for electric vehicles.

Lee Jong-ho, CEO of Tmap Mobility Co., a subsidiary of SK square, also attended the meeting. It was agreed that Tmap Mobility would enhance its collaboration with Benz, providing real-time traffic information and equipping Benz vehicles launching in Korea next year with Tmap auto navigation systems.
