On Aug. 22, Hyosung TNC announced plans to supply dust-proof suits and caps made from its “Regen” fiber to Samsung Electronics’ semiconductor factory in Texas in the U.S.

This project stems from the consensus that for sustainable management, workwear and apparel used at industrial sites must also be eco-friendly.

Hyosung TNC produces Regen fibers from collected PET bottles, which are then used by the industrial apparel manufacturer KM to make the dust-proof suits supplied to Samsung Electronics.

Hyosung TNC had previously applied Regen dust-proof suits to Samsung Electronics’ Hwaseong semiconductor factory in March.

Regen, the world’s first fiber with a Global Recycle Standard (GRS) certification made from recycled PET bottles, allowed Hyosung TNC to recycle about 300,000 discarded PET bottles for the production of dust-proof suits for the Taylor factory. This recycling effort has an equivalent carbon reduction effect to what 1,300 pine trees would absorb in a year.
