First Laptop with 'S Pen'
Samsung Electronics announced on July 5 that it will launch the Samsung Notebook 9 Pen with “S Pen.”
The Notebook 9 Pen is the first laptop equipped with the same “S Pen” solution that has been applied to the Galaxy Note series of smartphones. The touch screen display can be rotated like a tablet 360 degrees, so the laptop can be conveniently used for various work environments and applications.
The S Pen has 4,096 steps of writing pressure on a touch screen display and a thin 0.7 mm pen tip for a delicate and sophisticated representation that allows free pen work, making users feel as if they were writing on paper or drawing on a sketchbook. On its side, the Notebook 9 Pen has a built-in space for inserting the S Pen, so you can put the S pen in the space without worrying about losing it.
The three-month free use of Autodesk Sketchbook Pro software is given to allow graphic artists or design professionals to experience high work efficiency with the S-Pen.
The notebook 9 Pen is loaded with the Windows 10 Operating System, the latest 7th-generation Intel processor, a full HD (1920 x 1080 resolution) real-view display, 8GB (or 16GB) DDR4 memories and a 256GB SSD (solid state drive).
The laptop comes in two models: a 13.3-inch model (15.9 mm thick and 1.32 kg) and a 15-inch model (16.9 mm thick and 1.72 kg). In particular, the 15-inch model is equipped with the AMD Radeon 540 Graphic Card, delivering powerful gaming performance.
Its bundled adaptor supports quick charging. The new device can be charged with a smartphone charger or a portable battery pack, which was well received when the notebook 9 Always series was launched. This function saves users worries about running out of batteries when they are on the go. In addition, the Samsung Notebook 9 Pen is loaded with the latest security solutions such as a face recognition login and a secret folder.
The Notebook 9 Pen has the only one color -- titanium silver color and comes in a variety of models according to display sizes and specifications such as processors. NT940X3M-K58, the highest 13-inch model is priced at 1,890,000 won (US$1,700) and NT940X5M-X78, the highest model among 15-inch Notebook 9 Pen models commands 2,430,000 won (US$2,180).
