Foreign Tellers
Woori Bank is currently recruiting 100 tellers, including about 10 foreigners. The recruitment procedure is scheduled to continue until early next month, according to industry sources.
This is the first time that a Korean bank recruits a foreigner as a teller to work at its retail banking branch although banks in the country have hired some experienced employees.
“We are currently interviewing the applicants and they include those from 10 or so countries such as China, Russia and Myanmar,” Woori Bank explained, adding, “The main duties of the foreign tellers will cover foreign customers residing in South Korea and the globalization of the other staff members by means of active communication with them.”
